Cage balls are ideally suited for large group recreational activities and can be used to create lots of fun and unique group games. Game participants or school classes can stand or sit in a large circle and the cage ball can be kicked or rolled around from one person to another around the circle. There are many great game ideas that can be played with cage balls.
Cage balls are ideal for playing "theme" or "alphabet" games where each person thinks of a noun that begins with a certain letter. The person who has the ball needs to say a unique word that begins with the same letter, or along the same theme, and can then passes the ball to the next person across the circle who needs to follow with a word beginning with the same letter or that follows the theme. Persons that use the same word more than once or choose a word that does not fit the theme get bumped out of the circle and have to sit out the next round. For a fun variation, one person can be chosen as the "head" of the circle and that person is in the first position. Whenever someone makes a mistake, they have to go to that "back" of the circle (or the end of the line). Therefore, the goal of each participant is to get to the head of the circle by making the fewest mistakes. The person in the first position therefore becomes a "target" and each person in the circle then tries to "unseat" the first person (or someone higher than them) by sending the ball to them and hoping that they will make a mistake and be "unseated". When the person who made the mistake goes to the end of circle, all the other players move up one position. In this way, everyone gets to participate in each round and every person tries to unseat someone in front of them so that they can move up towards the first position. Whenever the first person is unseated, they go to the back of the circle, and everyone moves up and the second person moves into the first position and so on.
